Q. What is included in the price for a night?

A. The price includes: bunk, linens, towel, internet use, ethernet connection laptops, reading light, locker and a light breakast from 7 am to 9 am in the morning.
Guest are welcome to use the kitchen, internet, our Alaskana library of books and videas and living room. Self-serve laundry ($3/load - light items only) is available most days.

Q. Is there a lock-out?

A. No lock-out once checked in. Our office hours are very limited for check-in so it is best to email or call ahead, especially during the winter to arrange check-in.

Q. Is there a curfew?
|
 |
A. No curfew, but we have a firmly enforced quiet time from 10 pm to 7 am. Guest must leave beds made and gear oraganized before heading out for the evenings. A good, quiet nights rest for all is a priority here.

Q. What are check-in and checkout times?
|
 |
A. Summer (May 15 to September 15) - Check-in is from 8 am to 10 am and again from 5 pm to 8 pm. Check-in can be accommodated at other times if arrangements are made at least two days in advance.
Winter Check-in: By advanced arrangement at time of booking.
Checkout: 9:30 am. We do have luggage storage for travelers who are leaving later in the day.

Q. What methods of payment are accepted?

A. Reservations on the internet can be done by credit card at this web site.
Those booking by phone, email and mail will be required to send a deposit for their first nights stay ($25/person). We accept personal checks or travelers checks.
Payment at our hostel is by either cash or travelers checks.

Q. Is the hostel open the the winter?
|
 |
A. We are open about 3 out of 4 weeks a month from September 1 to May 30. We do not keep any regular office hours, so advance planning does pay off in the winter. Either book online, or call or email in advance.
Last minute drop-ins are welcome if you are lucky enough to catch us in.

Q. Is there a stay limit?
|

A. Our hostel is designed for travelers. We allow a maximum of 4 night stay. Exceptions can be made for those attending a class or event in Petersburg.
We are not set up to handle long term stays.

Q. Can a group reserve the hostel?
|
 |
A. Summer: Generally we do group reservations between June 1 and September 1.
In the winter, we welcome groups (Maximum 9 people). Discounts for available for educational, club, and school groups. A 50% deposit is required for those makiing a group reservation.
